Lean-toGable
From €1,532
A mono-pitch roof lantern has a single glass pane that slopes from one side to the other at a fixed pitch. It is the type most often chosen for a rear extension or side extension with a flat roof. Simple in shape, calm to look at and with few junction details. DaglichtDesign makes every mono-pitch roof lantern in its own workshop in Barneveld, to your size and with your choice of glass.
Prices start at €1,532. Looking for a lean-to roof lantern in a standard size? Then you can move quickly: 1, 2 and 3 metre versions are always in stock. If your size is different, we make it to measure, with delivery from 2 weeks after approval.

A mono-pitch works on any flat roof where the glass can fall from one side to the other. Rainwater runs to the low side on its own and from there into the gutter or across the roof covering. Because there is only one pane, the build-up stays low. From outside you barely see it, from inside you look straight up at the sky.
The three standard lengths fit most extensions and roof openings. To see what each size gives you in light and space, look at the 1 metre mono-pitch, the 2 metre mono-pitch or the 3 metre roof lantern.
Up to 5 metres wide we make the glass as one panel, without a glazing bar. That gives a clean, uninterrupted glass surface. If the roof lantern is wider, one or more bars are added. These are thermally broken, so no cold bridge forms where two panels meet.
We make every mono-pitch with a standard pitch of 8°. It is a proven angle: rainwater drains well, dirt washes off with the rain and the build-up stays low and sleek, even when you see the roof from an upstairs window. More about the pitch in the right pitch for a roof lantern.
As standard your mono-pitch gets HR++ double glazing, with a U-value of about 1.1 W/m²K. Triple glazing is also possible, at about 0.5 W/m²K. We put both options side by side in the quote, so you see the price difference straight away. Which choice suits your room is explained in triple glazing or HR++ double glazing. You also choose between clear, frosted or solar control glass.
The frame is thermally broken aluminium. Matt black and anthracite are chosen most, but any RAL colour is possible, including bicolour with a different colour inside and out.
You collect the roof lantern by appointment in Barneveld, with no delivery charge, or we deliver it on an agreed date. Installation is done by your own contractor or builder. Every delivery comes with a printed and digital installation manual for the mono-pitch, with junction details for EPDM, bitumen and zinc. Questions while fitting? Call on weekdays between 7:00 and 17:00. Rather not use your own contractor? Installation by our regular fitting partner is available on request.

A standard 8°. That lets water drain well, leaves little dirt on the glass and keeps the build-up nice and low.
Usually yes, if the structure allows it. Your contractor or a structural engineer assesses whether the roof can carry the extra load and how the roof opening is made.
The roof lantern itself usually needs no separate permit. The extension it sits on sometimes does. Check with your municipality before you order.
A standard mono-pitch sits freely on the roof, on an upstand that runs all the way round. A wall-abutting lean-to connects at its high side to a taller wall. If your extension is against a continuous wall, look at the wall-abutting lean-to roof lantern.
