A roof lantern on a garage costs from €1,532 for a mono-pitch at DagLichtDesign. What yours costs depends on the size, the glass and the state of the garage roof. With a garage in particular, the extra work is often in the roof itself: load-bearing capacity, roof covering and the opening.
Many garages have a light flat roof, sometimes decades old. So for roof lantern garage cost it is not just the roof lantern that counts, but also the state of that roof. Have your contractor or a structural engineer first assess whether the joists can take an opening and the weight of glass. If the roof covering is due for replacement, combine it with the installation. That saves doing the work twice.

What you use the garage for determines the glass. In an unheated storage space insulation matters less. HR++ is our standard and that is more than enough there. If the garage becomes a heated workshop, hobby room or home office, insulation does count. Triple glazing has a U-value of about 0.5 W/m²K, against about 1.1 W/m²K for HR++.

A mono-pitch of 1, 2 or 3 metres is always in stock. For a single garage that is often already a generous size. You can collect from the factory in Barneveld by appointment, with no delivery costs. Delivery on an agreed date is also possible. Made to measure has a lead time from 2 weeks after approval.
Your own contractor or builder fits it. On a garage you work at low height, which makes lifting easier. Contractor hourly rates are roughly between €50 and €75 excluding VAT, but always ask for a quote. A printed and digital installation manual is included.

A mono-pitch starts from €1,532. The price for your garage depends on size, glass and whether it is a stock size. Work on the roof itself, such as strengthened joists or a new roof covering, your contractor charges separately.
