250 cm roof lantern: where this size fits

A 250 cm roof lantern is a size that often comes from the build itself. The distance between two joists, the width of a kitchen unit or the size of an existing opening does not neatly come out at 2 or 3 metres. Then we make the roof lantern to measure in our factory, so it fits the upstand exactly.

As a mono-pitch roof lantern, 250 cm is one panel, because the limit without an intermediate bar is 5 metres. You get a calm, continuous glass surface. The standard pitch of 8° ensures good drainage.

2 metres, 250 cm or 3 metres?

If you are building new, you can also choose a stock size and have the opening made to match. A 2 metre mono-pitch or a 3 metre mono-pitch is always in stock and can be collected or delivered without production time. If the room below is simply 250 cm wide, for example an extension on a narrow house, made to measure gives the best result.

With an existing opening, made to measure is almost always the best choice. Enlarging or reducing an opening takes work on the joists, upstand and roof covering. You save that work with a roof lantern that fits straight away.

Other roof types at 250 cm

250 cm also works as a size for other roof types. A gable roof lantern goes up to 4 metres wide per roof surface and 6 metres long as standard, so this size is well within range. Against a taller wall a wall-abutting lean-to is logical, with overhead and side light and a connection profile per wall type.

Colour and finish

With a 250 cm roof lantern the frame is clearly visible, inside and out. The aluminium is available in any RAL colour. Jet black RAL 9005, anthracite RAL 7016 and traffic white RAL 9016 are the most popular. Bicolour, with a different colour inside than outside, is also possible.
