Lean-toGable
What a roof lantern on a veranda costs depends mainly on how it connects to your house, the size and the glass. A veranda is fixed to the wall, so a wall-abutting lean-to roof lantern is often the logical choice, from €1,689. A standalone mono-pitch starts from €1,532. Your contractor's work and any sun shading come on top.
A veranda is a covered terrace directly against the house. That is why much of the roof lantern veranda cost comes down to one detail: the connection to the wall. A wall-abutting lean-to roof lantern connects on the high side to a taller wall, with a wall connection profile and an EPDM lead replacement or a zinc flashing. Which of the two depends on your wall.
Brickwork, timber cladding, render, sand-lime brick or concrete panels: for each wall type we supply the right connection profile. The wall-abutting lean-to comes made to measure, including upstand and connection profiles. You can read how it differs from a standard mono-pitch in mono-pitch or wall-abutting lean-to.
A veranda often faces south or west, because that is where you want to sit outside. Under a south-facing glass roof it gets warm quickly on a summer day. That is why we advise solar control glass or sun shading for a south-facing veranda. Include it in your budget from the start, so you are not caught out later.
Solar control glass is part of the glazing unit, so it needs no extra fitting. A screen or pleated blind is a separate investment, but you can open and close it. Read solar control glass in a roof lantern and a screen for your roof lantern to compare the two.
The roof lantern is only part of a veranda. You need a structure of posts and beams, sometimes a foundation, a gutter and possibly lighting or glass sliding walls. A complete veranda can run roughly from a few thousand euros to well over €10,000, depending on size and specification. That is a rough market indication, not our price. Always ask a contractor or veranda builder for a quote.
Your own contractor fits it, or on request our regular installation partner. That installation then appears as a separate line in the quote. Every delivery comes with a printed and digital installation manual, and your contractor can call us on weekdays from 7:00 to 17:00 with questions.
If you want to enclose the veranda with glass walls later, it becomes an indoor space. Then insulation does matter. Triple glazing has a U-value of about 0.5 W/m²K, against about 1.1 W/m²K for HR++. The quote shows them side by side. If you are already thinking about that step, read roof lanterns for conservatories and garden rooms. More about this application is in a roof lantern on a veranda.
A wall-abutting lean-to against the wall starts from €1,689, a standalone mono-pitch from €1,532. The price for your veranda depends on size, glass and wall type. Send a photo or sketch and you have a quote within 24 hours.
The from-price is slightly higher, because the upstand and connection profiles for your wall type are included. In return the connection to your house is sorted straight away. If the structure stands free of the wall, a standard mono-pitch is enough.
Often yes, if the structure can carry the extra weight of glass. Have your contractor or a structural engineer assess that. If you are replacing plastic sheets, also read glass or polycarbonate.
