The short answer

A made-to-measure roof lantern from DagLichtDesign has a lead time from 2 weeks after approval. Complex custom projects or specific glass choices can take up to 8 weeks. The mono-pitch roof lantern in 1, 2 and 3 metres is always in stock, and for an urgent build schedule a rush option is sometimes possible.

How long is the lead time for a roof lantern?

The clock starts when you approve the quote. From that moment the roof lantern is usually ready within 2 weeks. DagLichtDesign makes its roof lanterns in its own factory in Barneveld, so there is no middleman in the schedule.

A lead time of 2 weeks fits almost any build schedule. A contractor often only has the upstand ready after a few weeks, so the roof lantern is usually ready in time. For contractors who do this more often, see roof lanterns for contractors.

  • Standard: from 2 weeks after approval
  • Complex custom work or special glass: up to 8 weeks
  • Mono-pitch 1, 2 and 3 metres: always in stock
  • Urgent build schedule: sometimes a rush option

When is the lead time longer?

It mainly takes longer than two weeks with unusual combinations. Think of a large segmented hipped roof lantern, a large modular gable roof lantern, or glass that is not standard, such as special solar control or acoustic glass. Triple glazing can also take longer than HR++.

The quote always states the lead time for your roof lantern. So you know where you stand in advance and can plan around it.

Which roof lanterns are available straight from stock?

The mono-pitch roof lantern in 1, 2 and 3 metres is always in stock. If your opening matches one of those sizes, you do not have to wait for production. See, for example, the 2 metre mono-pitch roof lantern or the overview of roof lanterns from stock.

Other roof lanterns often come from stock too, but that depends on size and specification. Ask if you are in a hurry.

How do you make sure your roof lantern arrives quickly?

Most delays do not happen in the factory but beforehand: dimensions that are not yet fixed, or doubts about the glass. The quote arrives in your inbox within 24 hours and stays valid for 30 days. The sooner your dimensions and choices are settled, the sooner production starts.

Have the dimensions taken as soon as the upstand is in place, or measure yourself following the guide to measuring up. Then choose between collection in Barneveld or delivery on an agreed date. How ordering works from there is explained in ordering a roof lantern.

  • Fix the dimensions as soon as the upstand is ready
  • Choose the glass with the quote in front of you
  • Approve the quote promptly
  • Agree a collection or delivery date straight away

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can a roof lantern be delivered?

From 2 weeks after approval. A mono-pitch roof lantern of 1, 2 or 3 metres is always in stock and can therefore be quicker. For an urgent build schedule a rush option is sometimes possible.

Why do lead times differ between suppliers?

Partly because not every supplier manufactures in-house. DagLichtDesign makes its roof lanterns in its own factory in Barneveld. That keeps the schedule short and predictable.

When should I order my roof lantern?

As soon as the upstand dimensions are fixed. With a lead time from 2 weeks, the roof lantern is usually there in time, even if the building work is already under way. Match the delivery date to the day your contractor can fit it.
