The short answer

A 150 cm roof lantern falls between the stock sizes of 1 and 2 metres, so DagLichtDesign makes it to measure. The lead time is from 2 weeks after approval. If you are building new, you can also adapt the opening to a 1 or 2 metre stock size, which is available straight away.

150 cm roof lantern: why made to measure

The mono-pitch is always in stock in 1, 2 and 3 metres. A 150 cm roof lantern sits exactly in between. We make it to measure in our factory in Barneveld, to fit your opening. That is normal for us: any roof lantern can be made to measure, and the stock sizes are there for fast delivery.

A width of 150 cm often comes up with an existing opening, such as the opening of an old rooflight dome or a roof lantern being replaced. The opening is then already fixed. A roof lantern that fits exactly connects better than a stock size for which you have to alter the opening.

Made to measure or a stock size

If you are building a new extension, you have a choice. Have your contractor make the opening 1 or 2 metres and take a stock size, which you can collect or have delivered without production time. Or keep to 150 cm if that suits the room below better, for example above a kitchen unit or a staircase. More about quickly available sizes is in a roof lantern from stock.

Also compare the sizes with the light you want. 1 metre is a compact source of light, 2 metres gives a clear surface of light. 150 cm is a middle way that often works well in a small kitchen, a hallway or above stairs. See also the 1 metre mono-pitch and the 2 metre mono-pitch.

Which type suits 150 cm?

At this width most people choose a mono-pitch roof lantern, with a standard pitch of 8°. If you are replacing an old rooflight dome, a mono-pitch is a good choice there too, see replacing a rooflight dome with a roof lantern. Against a taller wall a wall-abutting lean-to suits. HR++ double glazing is standard, triple glazing is available as an option.

  • Mono-pitch: the most popular choice at this size
  • Mono-pitch as a replacement for an old dome
  • Wall-abutting lean-to against a taller wall

How to give us the size

Measure the outside dimension of the upstand, not the inside dimension of the room. Also note the depth. Measure both diagonals as well: if they are equal, the opening is square. Read measuring for a roof lantern. A photo or sketch is enough for a quote within 24 hours. Still unsure about the size? See choosing roof lantern dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 150 cm roof lantern available straight away?

No, 150 cm is made to measure. The lead time is from 2 weeks after approval. If you are in a hurry and building new, you can adapt the opening to a 1 or 2 metre stock size.

How much does a 150 cm roof lantern cost?

A mono-pitch starts from €1,532. What a 150 cm roof lantern costs depends on depth, glass and colour. With your dimensions you have a quote within 24 hours.

Is made to measure more expensive than a stock size?

You will see that in the quote. Bear in mind that made to measure often saves work on the roof, because the opening does not need to be altered. Take that into account when you compare the two.
